Who are we?

People always ask... "what made you do this, and how did you get started?"
I am a 49 yr old woman, married 28 yrs, the mother of two wonderful adult children, and "Mimi" (grandmother) of one 8 yr old granddaughter. I have had numerous businesses through the yrs.. and needless to say, been extrememly busy.

A couple yrs ago, I took my head out of my world long enough to read a life altering book called LEFT TO TELL, DISCOVERING GOD AMIDST THE RWANDAN HOLOCAUST... BY IMMACULEE ILIBAGIZA. After many sleepless nights, and the countless hours thinking of all the horrific ongoings around the world... realized I could just go on feeling helpless.. or I could TRY TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP.

We started small, but it was a start! The start was initially with this web site to help the Rwandan geneocide survivors and after doing that for about a yr...and adding more crafts from other parts of Africa... we sold our farm tractor, in April of 2007. With the money from our tractor and lots of credit cards we opened our first shop in North Conway, NH. in May 07, just OFF Main St. Being a business of the heart, and not a big business person, I realized that we needed to move to a better location, hence making our way to MAIN ST. in Sept 07. Now if I could just find time to update this web site with all the new inventory that we have in the shop!

If you are interested in more information about Immaculee's book, here is a link to her site. WE ALSO SELL HER BOOK IN PAPERBACK AT THE SHOP. CALL ME AT 603 356 5100.
Left To Tell

Since opening the "brick & mortar" shop last May 07, I met a wonderful lady who was passionate about a group called Mayan Families. This group is based in the US (started by people who had adopted from Guatemala and saw the desparate need for help from the families in the Lake Atitlan area, especially after Hurricane Stan hit 2 yrs ago.) This group is phenomenal. If you want to get more information about this group, or would like to be part of them please visit MayanFamilies.org. You have never seen a group of people move mountains and perform miracles like they do everyday.
Why is this listed on the "about us" page of the website? I am so obsessed with the miracles this group performs daily that I consider them to be part of me... and what we are about. Helping others. Children can be sponsored and sent to school for 120.00 per yr. Giving these children an education will help lift them out of poverty, in an area where most of the parents are illiterate. You can give a Christmas Tamale basket that will feed a family of 12 their traditional Christmas dinner, for 30.00. They have bought land, built houses, gotten medical teams from the US to come do surgeries, dental work, eye care etc for these people living in dyer situations. You can donate 10.00 more or less to any emergency fund... or you can join the group and watch what they do. Pictures are taken with donations so that you can see what is being given and you can have contact with sponsored children and families. You are welcome to visit and help in the on-going projects with Sharon and the crew anytime... even visit sponsored families you are helping. You always feel connected and part of the miracles. Please just take a peek if you are in a helping/giving mood and want to be involved in making these miracles happen. Mayan Families

To be part of the group and be able to keep up with the current projects, needs, and just be part of it all... join the group!

I am just a real (young!) grandmother, who is heartbroken from the unrest, and horrors that face some of our sisters and brothers around the world. I am just trying to help in some way, to find outlets for others to help themselves...

Our new shop... We sold our farm tractor, and with the help of alot of credit cards, we opened this cute little shop in North Conway Village, NH. Please come see us. We have so much more in the shop than has made it to the website. We are located NEXT TO THE LUNA GALLERY ON MAIN STREET.
